This is the last project in my foundation studies program for design course. The criteria for the project is the design must be sculptural, abstract and reflect the theme or feature of Australia's landscape, nature, history or culture. I chose one of Australia's flora, the waratah flower, as the inspiration for my design. the technique that I used for this project is paper mache technique. It is quite an easy technique to perform. However, the critical part is the paper takes time to dry, hence it must be made as earlier as possible before due date of the project. Moreover, the light was made out of two layer. the first layer is to cover the light bulb so that it cannot be seen through when the outer has been cut. The small triangles at the outer layer were cut randomly and in the same sizes to reflect the flower's petals. For the colour, I used the same colour as the flower which is red.
This architecture is one of Frank Gehry's finished buildings,Lou Ruvo Centre for Brain Health, located in Las Vegas. Some interesting things about this building is it is very sculptural, contemporary and controversial i terms of the form or shape that being used by the architect. This building is intended as research center for curing brain diseases in the future. Moreover, the architect himself put a lot of effort and thinking in creating this architecture. He wanted to create a memorable place in Las Vegas. This building also consists his signature steel forms and considers as his lasting masterpiece in the future.
For me, this is the most beautiful sunset that I ever saw. This picture was taken when my family and I went on vacation to Bali. It was taken at the most perfect for sunset. The colour of the sun when it's gone down is just beautiful and it become the background for the cliff. The sunset made the cliff become pitch black when it was taken from that angle.
